My second attempt at oil painting, done over the december holidays. I guess I'm really obsessed with painting water. You can find very close similarities with my first oil painting of the school pond --- both depicts water and the brushstroks are largely visible and bold. The colors are also very pure (most came straight from the paint tubes), thus the exceptionally pure blue waters of the sea. Yup, this painting also shows influence from the Impressionists (particularly Claude Monet). I suppose the white ship in the background does seem rather distorted.
